Alt-folk artist Mitch Whitaker is a songwriter’s songwriter. With a poet’s instinct and a guitar style shaped by classical conservatory training, Whitaker’s distinctive voice delivers songs that confront complicated truths in complicated times.
In 2025, he released his debut album Wicked or Broken and earned top honors at the Portland Folk Festival Songwriting Contest, establishing himself as a rising talent in the Pacific Northwest’s folk scene.
Trained in classical guitar at Western Washington University, he’s been a student at Berklee College of Music, lived and performed in Nashville, TN, and now resides in Portland, Oregon, where in 2026 he released two EPs: Which Side Are You On? and Dark Days of Freedom.
